What happened with the Miami TDY?
It would cost the same to train a new hire into the Jet (training cost). An ATR pilot would have to complete the same training as the new hire to include Indoc. The new hire would get paid 64 hrs of pay a month and 16 hrs of perdium a day. The ATR pilot will make 72 hrs a month (2nd year ATR pay at least) and 24/7 perdium. If ATR flying remains the same then they have to hire someone to replace the ATR guy. So it's not as easy (financially) as you might think. Just 1 ATR guy bidding the jet after the seat lock cost the company over $50,000. Not to mention they are one pilot short on the line.
