This is the one that sucks terrible. It goes beyond logic that the company would pull these guys off the line just to send them back to school, with not even finishing. People are asleep at the switch if you ask me.
Ask a 10 year XJ CA who now has 5 years of seniority....
A minor complaint as long as the positions below him are being backfilled by junior XJ guys-- protected by appropriately sized fences. This guy also has 108 exclusive positions in front of him flowing to DAL soon, so he should see good mobility in the coming year.
I know 9e CA's who will be on reserve for the next 4 years (after being on reserve for 2-3) getting lapfrogged by Colgan guys....
Another terrible result of poor integration methods. Drawing the lines arbitrarily put these guys in the "FO" category, even though they weren't. The silver lining is they're holding the left seat and will have the opportunity to bounce at the first moment the market breaks.
I know CA's that will now have to commute because they aren't senior enough to live in domicile anymore.
An inconvenience only. They had the opportunity to bid back to FO if they so chose to preserve quality of life. They chose to commute. The fact of the matter is that XJ was experiencing a significant reduction of fleet size and our SLI committee overlooked it. Incompetence? Indifference? Which is worse?
