There's a way to do both. Here's how: You can come up from the "outside" with a top education and business record, then use that experience to lead the union for one or two terms maximum. Then you keep your promise by returning to the line. Now here's the important part...while you are in office, you do your job like you actually want to be there. In this way you're not a career politician, AND you want to be there while you ARE there.
