The way I see it, every card undermines the guy at the table bargaining on our behalf.
If the DPA wins the election, then I'll support the DPA (which will be supporting our pilots). However, at this point a representational battle just stalls, and harms, contract 2012.
Your post is right on the money ... participate in your LEC election. Elect guys who you support (and who support you).
JUST MY OPINION
Voting in the DPA prior to our Section 6 opener is absolutely critical for us to have any chance at restoration. Our OWN UNION is trying desperately to keep critical information from us in the hopes of producing a contract survey that allow them their desire to aim really low. If that doesn't work, they'll simply never release the survey results. Then the MEC will create the opener THEY want to give to management. At that point, we're done. Even if we vote in the DPA at that point, we'll never do better than the opener given to management at the start of Section 6.
The evidence is all around us that we are being "mushroomed". We are now being explicitly told that we will "of course" not see the survey results or the opener...even though we ALWAYS saw the opener on the North side. The excuse is some idiotic analogy to playing poker.
Glad you're happy with this, but I'm not. If we don't change this course, we lose.
