This is the difference in scale...DAL got a $765M profit, B6 got a $39M profit. Good on JetBlue, but it's simply an order of magnitude less.
Why even bring Delta into the discussion? As you pointed out, it is a different animal: a large global airline with a premium business class product vs. a mid-size all-economy mostly domestic and Caribbean airline.
With Delta's much large economy of scale and business class offerings (with their intrinsic higher profit margins), I should hope that Delta would have earned much more than B6.
