This is what I suspect happened because every other time I have traded a trip or done a pickup it has been instant. I can't be sure but it's possible that this is the first time I've done something like this during the fake "transition period". Which brings me to my next point...

If this is the case then its BS. Until the JCBA is complete ASA's contract and LOA's are theirs and XJT's contract and LOA's are ours. Applying rules from one contract willy-nilly on the other pilot group is clearly a violation. Picking up an advertisement on a day off during the secondary window does nothing but move payroll money from one pilot's check to another's, voluntary to all parties involved. There is no additional cost to the company. Just slap some min guarantee, 30/7, 100/30 and 1000/year parameters on there and be done with it! Why are they paying some boob to look at each one of these requests!?

So you gotta know days in advance that you might have a dead day in your week and want to make some extra money? What if your plans change last minute? Negotiate a better contract. This is one of those things that costs the company next to nothing (and they know it!) but can improve your QOL immeasurably. Like to fly a lot? Need money? Pickup the turns commuters are always dropping. Hate flying and want to be at home? Advertise your whole schedule! Every one goes home happy!
