I thought I was toast until he took me into the room with the pre-offer on the table. Apparently I was the only one selected that day out of 6.
I remember when I interviewed, there was a guy that bombed the sim portion so badly that he came back into the holding tank all smiles, grins, and jokes!
He was at peace with it, and knew there was no way he was getting the job. When the door opened and they call his name he snapped to his feet, shook hands with me and one other guy that was left, and said to the interviewer "Should I grab my stuff??"
The interviewer just chuckled a bit and said, "No, just come outside for a minute."
A minute later he came back in, grabbed his stuff, and headed out.
It was pretty funny.
