I instructed and I don't think that makes me better than someone who didn't. To be honest, I didn't enjoy it very much. Luckily, after about 300hrs dual given I got hired. Don't get me wrong, I worked hard to teach well and took pride in soloing a guy or having a student pass their ride. Just wasn't what I truely wanted to be doing. Ill never forget the first guy I soloed. It was a proud day for me, driving around in a gulf cart with a scanner. Nervous as hell. However, instructing and being thrown into an rj are two different worlds. I really don't think another 300+ hrs would've made me any more prepared for the airline gig. They are just too different.
