If it says anything about senior, his son was a great guy and a natural pilot. I think his son went on to do something other than fly for a living, I'm not sure but I think that's the case and I believe we refer those folks as the smart ones, no?

Ted was Ops Group Commander when I joined the Tennessee Air National Guard's 164th AW in 1988. Flew with him on the 'A' model C-130 and gave me my bounce ride in a DC-9 in the middle of the night at Duluth. A very capable administrator, and all around nice man, he was fiercely competitive. Not trying to be critical, in 20 years flying with him, working for him in two jobs, he never came to remember my name. With great sadness, his passing is noted.
