As far as B6, that wouldn't be too bad, I guess, at least there are no wide body aircraft at B6, so it would only mostly affect your narrow body crowd if they were to merge in some relative way.
Widebody captains would likely not be affected, but everyone else would be. A JB narrow body captain being merged in with an AA narrowbody captain will affect all the widebody FOs.
If merging one company that has no widebodies with another company that has a lot of widebodies, there should be fences. Long, tall fences. Otherwise they may as well hire someone off the street and put them in frront of you. The affect on your career progression would be the same.
