Pay attention to Carl, his delivery may be too curt for your taste, but he's on target the vast majority of the time.

That sounds like the same argument that I have heard from my union leaders as to why we needed turboprops, 44 seat RJ's, 50 seat RJ's, 70 seaters, 76 seaters, etc.
