I was asked once if I had the choice of ERJ or ATR which I would go with. I went with ERJ (as I did when I started here) and was immediately met with "Oh, you just have shiny jet syndrome."

Perhaps.

But I like to call it more shiny-dollar syndrome since the jet pays more. Or shiny-the-jet-is-in-my-base-and-I-heard-quality-of-life-is-better-than-commuting.

But hey, I hear the ATR is REALLY an airplane and you get to do some COOL approaches in it. I'll enjoy the extra time home with my family, better pay, and avoid the hassle of commuting. If thats SJS, I'll be out polishing the leading edge next preflight.
