A few years ago I got my furlough notice from Comair the day before Thanksgiving. I was supposed to have a trip start Thanksgiving morning so I called in sick and gave myself the holiday off. I then sent our CEO a not so friendly email about how inappropriate and unprofessional it was to allow that to happen. Of course he apologized and said he didn't know that the notice was going out that day and would make sure it never happened again. Right, you run the company and are unaware when the company is giving mass layoffs? Give me a break.
