BTW - my answers were questions: "In this scenario am I the First Officer, or Captain?" "Has the Captain told me to get involved?" After getting those clarifications, my answer was "nothing."

Seems like some flight attendants are worried that pilots are going to write them up. The South Flight Attendants know that if we're offering to help with their bag, it is a genuine offer, nothing other than courtesy.
