Third time to apply. Starting to wonder if being in the Guard is a good or bad thing. Any reasonable advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
Sorry C-130Driver, I'm having a little bit of a hard time understanding part of your post...did you say you do or don't have an internal rec? I think they value those quite a bit. It is totally beyond me how they choose their interviews...but I think there is a good chance you'll get a call, based on your credentials, especially if you have an "inside" rec. You have more PIC than I do, I'm only at about 1,200'ish PIC turbine (no conversion) and have a total of about 3,000 hrs. Mil IP/EP time. I had 1 rec to start...then about 4 by the time I interviewed (started tracking down some old friends of friends).
I don't think the Guard is a good thing....I think it is a GREAT thing! I wish I knew about it before I went AD! Hang in there....I'm sure you'll get the invite...just keep updating your info. In the meantime, i'm sure you already have, but start studying up on jB. I read the book Blue Streak and also scoured the website to dig for details and current/future events.
Which now brings me to my next point....I just want to remind any folks that have not interviewed yet, that I have a jB study guide that I made to prep for my interview. By no means is it all-inclusive, but I think it is a good foundation to build upon. I'm sure many of you are smarter than me and can make it mucho better, but if anybody wants a copy, just pm me, i'd be happy to hook you up. Cooperate to graduate...that's how we do!!
Now come on phone....just give me a little ring ring and a job offer!!
