We looked at the jetta sportwagon tdi. Nice little rig, but too little. If they still made a passat tdi, I think we would go that route.

Beamers are great, but even as a car guy, I would dread any transmission problems...Even I dont have a source of inexpensive parts for those.

I had not looked at the eco boost stuff.
My Geekie/Techno wife really likes all the sync stuff on the Fords. She passed up an Explorer and went for an Edge. Sits high like an SUV but has more of a car feel IMHO. From the front door forward, it has more of a minivan look that I didn't like......but it's her car so I bit my lip
