One of our line Captains spoke with the SIC. He indicated that the right engine began surging, so the PIC elected to cage it. Along with losing situation awareness, touching down long and fast with a tailwind, the PIC slapped the P-180 into reverse and looped it, the mains caught and it flipped. He said that it should have been a non event, and yes, they did a poor job.
