There you go again take another look at the REAL posts that had nothing to do with it. What I really posted was that an FO shouldn't be spending $300 on a flight bag when he can get a good one for $60. Put the $240 he saved into a regular savings acount. Then every 3 years buy a brand new one with the interest he'd make.
It was more of a post about making good financial decisions in which the original poster agreed FYI. But we all know some people just want something shiny. The backpack was just there to make a point about finances. There's that negativity I was talking about again. Sometimes they come off and "dumb" because like the post you are refering too they are taken out of context. The thread evolved into financial decisions. People complain about why they are really in debt ect. I'm not and we talked about how smalled decisions made (like spending 2% of FO income on a bag) aren't wise. Apparently you didn't read too close. If I make an "errorous" post I'm the first to apologize and I can point those out too. If I do something wrong or say something wrong or something doesn't come out right I'm man enough to say it was my fault.
