Beechjet-400's are pieces of crap. Some stupid engineer (or maybe some business man incharge of the project) did not want to heat the fuel lines. Water freezes in the fuel line when the BE-400 gets to altitude, then BOOM, engine out! Now everyone who operates a BE-400 needs to pay an extra 6 cents a gallon for Prist. And trust me that adds up. Probably a lot more than the cost to heat the fuel lines. And definately if you ever forget to add prist to an aircraft, an engine out is a lot more costly than a few hundred dollars to heat the fuel lines. Oh well! Learn from the past so you don't repeat these mistakes in the future!!
Have you ever flown a Beechjet? I have. They are NOT "pieces of crap", and while there have been high-profile flame outs recently (if I'm not mistaken, all associated with operating at high altitude around visible moisture) the rest of the MU30/BE40 fleet has been operated largely without incident for over two decades.
Your amateur business analysis of the aviation industry is
much more accurate than your amateur analysis of aircraft design...and that's not saying much.
