My vote for the night, having just stumbled back from there:
Khyber Pass, PHL historic district downtown. 2nd and Chestnut/Market. 40 beers on tap or menu, including two cask-conditioned ales (Wytchwood Hobgoblin Brown Ale, very authentic). They gave me a free beer because I was talking it up... reminded me of living in Suffolk England. Best barbecued brisket I've had in 10 years, and I visited every barbecue place in TX flying tweets...

90 % of my layovers seem to be DTW, JFK, PHL, IAD, or SFO. I need a good recommendation for JFK bar near Roosevelt, SFO bar/food besides Elephant and Castle, and any thoughts on the Livonia DTW layover. Let's talk beer and food.
In SFO try Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub - Portland, Seattle & San Francisco
Not sure about food but they pour a mean Guinness and at least on the weekend evenings its wall to wall hot chicks. A reasonable walk to/from the hotel too.

If you want to cab it to the Mission, try Latin American Club - Mission - San Francisco, CA best and strongest margaritas on earth. Period. Don't get cocky. Seriously. Then a few blocks walk to a local taco dive that is out of this world. Again, usually wall to wall hot chicks but if for some reason its an off night, the whole area is packed with cool places.

For food you can't go wrong with Tommy's or Mel's, both were right by the old hotel though.
