I have a friend at ExpressJet who is IAH based, and he lives in Playa del Carmen. He has been doing the commute for awhile. As mentioned above, both Eagle and XJT would work out for that, however your time at home in Mexico would be as crappy as anyone else commuting.

Also, for non-Mexican citizens I believe it is now a $50 departure tax out of Mexico (I might be wrong on this), but plan to do that 4 times a month. I think my buddy only pays $25 each time he leaves the country.
