We just started a new three-year compliance period April 1, 2011.
At the end of the period in 2014 Delta will be required to get the 3-year average to at least 48.5% by 2015, either by increasing delta flying of decreasing AFKLM/AZ flying.
Then there is PWA 1.P.4 Note Two
If the company reaches 49.75% for a 12 month period, all previous capacity share percentages will be disregarded and a new three year measurement period begins.
If we fly 40%, 40%, 49.75% our average will be 43.25 but because of Note Two, Delta is off the hook because it met the 49.75% for the last rolling 12-month period.
Routes:
2011-2012 DELTA canceled 11 trans-atlantic routes and added two; net loss 9
2011-2012 AIRFRANCE canceled two trans-atlantic routes (not counting stopped and resumed routes) and added one; net loss one
2011-2012 KLM canceled one trans-atlantic route
2011-2012 ALITALIA canceled 1 trans-atlantic routes and announced resumption of ORD RMG in March 2012
Delta share of JV Capacity in percentage of EASK (actual, projected for future months)
APR 47.7%
MAY 46.6%
JUN 49.8%
JUL 49.8%
AUG 49.6%
SEP 45.9%
OCT 46.0%
NOV 46.0%
DEC 46.6%
JAN 46.8%
FEB 46.9%
MAR 45.8%
Those are Desi's numbers for the current 3-year compliance period that began on April 1, 2011...they match my own projections based on monthly capacity reports.
At some point there comes a time where you have to call a Spade a Spade.
I used to defend the JV on this very forum, but the changes made by MOU14 really make section 1.P. meaningless until March 31. 2014. That's an awefull long time to wait for scope remedies on decreased flying by wide body jets.
How many guys will be displaced or in a different seat because of this?
How many Delta pilot will be in lower paying equipment or seats before the flying picks back up.
Will the flying pick back up? Or will AFKLM/AZ just drop a bunch of flying in the future and get us in compliance that way?
Quite frankly all Delta pilots ought to be "hopping mad" about this because it sucks and like Bar said there's very little we can do about it...
Cheers

Alitalia flies to northwest Georgia??
Sorry, couldn't resist. Fill me in on the details again. The compliance window was stretched from 1 to 3 years to come back to within 1% of the 50/50 split? Do I have that right?
When was it changed? What was the catalyst for the change?
