This is the biggest problem that Delta has going forward... 10 categories/fleets with many more sub fleets inside the fleets. It will make our cost high, even with low wages compared to UAL, AA, & SWA.
And THAT is the problem we have.. and will always have when it comes to being compared to SWA. Our management has chosen to buy the airplanes they have because Delta is a different animal than SWA. It is, and that is an indisputable fact. The problem is that we continue to be compared to them by the media.. the public.. the politicians. So how do we combat that? Disguise our pay just like SWA does. I will bet you there isn't a single person outside of SWA that could make an apples to apples comparison of payrates between a SWA pilot and a UPS truck driver. But they sure can between a Delta pilot and a UPS driver.... Airplanes are airplanes boys... Pay me for flying any of them.
