This is from the chief pilot in recurrent the other day. 4 upgrades and 8 new hires a month. They are planning on 1500hrs being a hard number in 2013. No grandfathering in so you have to have 1500hrs by Aug of 2013. No more hiring 250hr guys. Your probably going to have to have about 800 or 900hrs to be considered. They are thinking you will build 500hrs a year on reserve. Also if your not going to be 23 by aug 2013 you won't be hired either because you have to be 23 to get a ATP... Also, a mainline guy from the training dept. said Airways is going to be hiring the first of the year. The company can't decide on how much to hire. He said it changes daily. Anywhere from 10-25 a month. Hope this helps.
