I've never seen a company grow after a merger and all the SWA commercials I see that tout "new service" are routes that Air Tran served for years. THat's pretty accurate - SWA is also dropping service to whole bunch of cities too. They are the smaller ones severed by the 717 but they are being cut. I can't find the list at the moment, but I'm sure SWA will have "merger synergies" of their own.
