Every commuter pretty much always has well over 10 hours of rest and 8 hours of sleep opportunity before a trip. The issue here is will that 10/8 hours have to reset the instant a pilot touches an airplane? A car? This is unenforceable and they know it, so its just there as a backstop blame all much in the way the "sterile cockpit" is used as a backstop blame all.
Very true. It would be interesting if they had to count travel time by car our plane to work. It might make commuting by plane more desirable since we have some that drive four plus hrs to work.
