Unlike my friend, OscarTheGrouch, who started the "Why I Hate Southwest Airlines" thread, I am a more positive and optimistic person and that's why my thread is about love and not hate.
So, the other day, the hard drive on my computer quit working. I took it to the repair guy who looked at it and shook his head sadly saying "it's toast." I am such an optimist (or maybe just plain stupid) that I never backed up important documents, files and pictures. The coffee shop financials are all in there. The repairman said to send the drive to this fancy place in Novato, CA where they have a clean room and a 98% success rate in recovering data from pieces of toast.
I call these people. A very efficient young woman gave me the sales pitch and sent via email a FedEx label for me to use. Since I can't print, I forwarded the email to the 11 year old girl who lives next door, but you know how 11 year olds are and I never heard from her. This afternoon, the repairman said he installed a new hard drive and the thing is ready to go. When I got there, I told them about the label and they were nice enough to print it for me.
The thing printed out alright - it was big and covered the entire piece of copy paper. Fighting pre-Christmas traffic, I made my way to a Kinko's where a nice young man said of course we were not going to wrap the label around that small box like a Christmas present. He grabbed a medium box, stuffed my box into it, and proceeded to mummify the label onto the bigger box. It'll get there on Tuesday, he confidently declared.
So easy a moderator can do it.
My problem tonight is trying to find a printer driver for my now obsolete printer. Can anybody help me with that?
