If you are awarded assignment pay because a trip was incorrectly assigned you get double pay for the trip flown. Its always worth a call to see if DALPA feels you have a case. The contract admin guys are very good and they have the same computer access as crew scheduling. They can view the exact trip assignment history and reconstruct exactly what happened.
Good advice, which is exactly what I did when the case I was speaking about happened. The rep checked it; confirmed that they really should have given it to me since the guy who did get it had the same number of days available, and a higher raw score. Again, it wasn't that big of a deal; I was more examining the situation than anything else. The DALPA rep told me I could call them back up and ask them to change it if I wanted to. Didn't mention anything about pay. It wasn't a big deal, just a layover preference so I left it alone and just asked if I could get off short call two hours early that day.
