They discontinued support of a broken app and to get your app to work you have to buy v6. They don't get it that if you buy a new phone you can't use an older version of iOS so when you get iOS 5 on your new iPhone or iPad and your purchased apps are synced in from iTunes they will not work - so you have to buy again and again and again! Robbery! They just keep blaming Apple and won't accept responsibility and fix the issues. No reason they couldn't keep log10 v5 in the app store and fix it and release log10 v6 along side it as they are completely separate and don't talk to each other.

I looked at the Logbook Pro page and the PC edition is a one time purchase, there is no subscription. Check it out at the bottom of Logbook Pro Flight Log Software and they don't charge for updates, their December newsletter states it's 14 years they've been offering free updates. Their apps are free but you just pay the small fee for cloud sync, you pay for one or the other, the app or something else. It's far less expensive at 19.99 a year instead of nearly $300/year with log10 unless you get it at a discount which they were bullied into doing more than one day from the all the screaming. I won't be suckered again!
I am a logbook pro user, and I have to subscribe to the service. I used to have ADPL with them, a product that was an excellent tool for airline pilots. My old pocket pc died, and I will not buy another PDA to carry around for the sole purpose of ADPL.
If I want to maintain something close to that product, i would have now pay for the schedule importer, a service that used to be free at Logbook pro. They even had a downloadable program for schedule importer. They swiftly removed that, and I have to pay 75 dollar pr year. YES 75 PR YEAR!!!

And then we have the joke of a service that they call cloud backup. 19.99 pr year for a one file backup. (They recommend 5) and a fantastic 49.99 pr year!
There are numerous cloud backup services out there for free. I use Dropbox to maintain my logbook pro backups. That is 5 GB of space for free, compared to logbooks 1 file (1-5MB) for 19.99 for free.

Talk about getting sucked? How about getting nickle and dimed for eternity.
