PNT/Luggage Works metal bag has been very sturdy but is a little heavy. Thinking of going to a plastic one. All the other manufacturers that make lighter bags use plastic. Zippers are very good.
It may not last as long but the benefit to my shoulder and back will be worth it.
I had a plastic frame PNT 22" bag that lasted 11 years before the base cracked at the screw/bolt holes. Still usable in a pinch. I replaced it with the metal frame which is considerably heavier.
