I'm seriously doubtful that the company is suddenly all about self-improvement and not making the next buck in any way they can. If you want to defend them so bad why not do a little research so you can state specifically how Silver Airways is different.
I don't have time to look up useless facts about the old GIA, but here is a difference the new Silver Airways gave all full time employees including us new hires a very nice little bonus.
