The only industry that does not pay for experience is the airline industry. Get furloughed and start at the bottom because the union aint gonna help you and management loves it because any monkey with the mins can do it for cheaper.
I'm leaving the industry for good and I'm going to an asst. manager of customer realtions job that has a starting SALARY of 76,300. I also get better benefits than any crapline has to boot. Also I can make up to 40% of my SALARY as a bonus if the company meets targeted goals. History has shown that it has never paid out less than 92% of of annual bonus. It might be a 9-5er but I also get every other friday as half days.
Lets see... No overnights, no airports, no Jepp revesions, no recurrent, no hotels, no weekends, no holidays, no uniforms, no UNIONS, no *****ing from the other seat, no travel, no bidding every month, no senority, no UNION DUES, and did I say no UNIONS? Also did I mention its a SALARY and not an hourly job like Taco Bell. Wait, Taco Bell pays more for their counter help than all regional and some major airlines pays their first, second, third year pilots.
It took me 18yrs (2 regionals, 2 majors and a corporate gig) to realize the error of my ways.
I really hope it screws up their training class and sim cycles that I'm not there.
Glad you got out. One less guy who makes the job less than enjoyable for the rest of us. Flew with a guy 2 weeks ago that was just like you. Horrible attitude, and a bad pilot to boot. Worst trip I've had in years.

Thank you for leaving!

So a vacant chair and a new-hire that needs a sim seat filler is sticking it to them?

If you hold such a big grudge, why don't you do something that will actually register on their radar? This will inconvenience an admin assistant for about 3 minutes, while she puts your books back on the shelf, and throws your name tag in the trash.

P.S. I don't work for GoJet.
