Are you to tell me that some newhire that's been flight instructing with no 121 experience is more qualified to be captain than I am? 500 hrs flying in patter will not get the PIC requirements neither...
why? Cause you need 250 PIC in which:
-100 hrs of xcountry time
-25 hrs night time
There are rules to follow, you don't have the flight time stated by the FARs, you can have 3000 in the 747 and still not be qualified to be a captain.
Let's see...25 hours pic night. You can get that in a 172 with one lap in the pattern and then running the tanks dry sitting on the ramp with the engine running. Same with pic xc. Fly 50 mi run the tanks dry. Fill up fly back run the tanks dry. Less money spent on fuel that way. Sounds like valuable experience to me.
