I agree it was a huge overreach. (Although, CAL pay rates would mean an entire $1/hour raise for a 777 F/O)
That being said, it was obvious that mgmt planned on giving CAL pilots profit sharing one way or another. That's where they assumed they had $40 million in leverage instead of just $500K.
