If American Airlines required 1000 new pilots (and by new I mean not currently on property), the entire landscape of Eagle would change, and it would be the best for the company, and the pilots. In the next 12-24 months some of this most likely will be true, and in 3-5 years will most definitely become true.

I therefor think it is not out of touch with reality to think the pay scale could take a 3-5% cut across the board at eagle, and captain pay cap at the current rate of 12 years. That would fuel the movement to benefit everyone over the next few years.

Furthermore a large amount of contractual language needs to change before the flying can leave AMR and goto someone else, and unless your a BK lawyer, you really can not say how that will work.

This website is a bunch of pilots speculating what will happen in a legal process, yet I bet only one or two of you are licensed to practice law, have received adequate training to provide legal advice on a bankruptcy matter, or have worked for hire in a bankruptcy case in any legal capacity(ie a paralegal). It is mostly just guys who have either been screwed by a similar situation and misery loves company, or mainly just guys who get woodies at the idea that our crappy regional might become even crappier, and then seem more like your crappy regional, and hopefully provide some sort of movement at your crappy regional by getting some of our flying.
