Not really. Our biggest prosperity was after WWII when we finally made massive government cuts at all levels including military and flooded the workforce with millions returning from war. Cutting the money train energized the economy like nothing we've ever done. We then built, and promptly started to waste, all that prosperity re-growing goverment at all levels, babysitting the globe and huffing off the reserve currency printing press crack pipe worrying about the bill tomorrow and here we are.
The government can't decree prosperity at any level, ever. CRAF flying is great for any one particular airline, but the spending behind the sum total of it all equates to crushing debt that takes far more away from the collective than it returns to it. If it were that simple, we could just "re-regulate" and have half empty 3 pilot gas guzzlers flying 10 times a day into every small city in the country. It doesn't work like that though.
As an airline we need to be able to compete and win against our competitors and we can start by reclaiming half the airline that we outsource at the former DC-9 level as well as the entire west coast for the large narrowbody level. And more JV's like Gol where we do everything between us and them and they only do their domestic rather than splitting everything (and rounding down! wth!) with every Air Startupistan on the planet.
