Today was day one for me of a frasca sim. It's flying attributes are not the best, but it's really meant for you to hone the calls outs and profiles. The only way to make this is be able to recite all the calls outs and run the profiles verbatim. You're going to need to have the IFR flying skills down to make it through the sim plain and simple. Once we hit the Orlando Flight Safety for the full motion I'm sure are standards will be graded to ATP levels. (Company instructors and evaluators are used at Flight Safety on their equipment) I think so far the sim instruction has been very good and positive. I was non stop sweating my butt off the whole time in there and it really never let up all. As for approaches all I did today that was slightly taxing was a single engine ILS. As for the single engine partial panel NDB I'm not sure if we will get that. AFAIK they cant test you on a double failure item. Maybe to try and see how you would perform in the situation?..... Having a good scan is absolutely key right now along with knowing the call outs and profiles cold.
How much instrument time do you have? I can't imagine the guys getting on with 250-350 tt will have much?
