This has nothing to do with the JCBA. It's really just a great illustration of just how d*&^ effective the airline, (former CAL mgt.), is at diffusing specific points of confrontation with the pilots. Feb. 14th would have been a very tough day operationally, It's doubtable one single L-CAL pilot would have made it to work that day. For a mere $45M the airline doesn't have to check the pilot's resolve. Now there is no single date on the calendar for the foreseeable future that pilots of either lineage can point to as a line in the sand.
The real unmentionable here, is how much L-UAL pilots can't stand the thought of higher W2s at CAL (as a result of the CAL/Pierce PS deal) because it
may come into play when we talk about how earnings pertain to career expectations and how that impacts seniority integration. I plan to spend most of my PS check toasting the anger of L-UAL pilots. This has nothing to do with unity nor integrity.
