To All Spirit Pilots,

Hello to all. In the Fall of last year I began my quest to join Spirit Airlines, after returning from Iraq and getting re-qualified in the left seat of the CRJ200 at Pinnacle Airlines. The more I look into Spirit vs. other Majors, whether it's legacy, Southwest, or any of the cargo airlines, the more Spirit appeals to me. Especially when you consider the niche they have on the traveling sector, I know other airlines talk down about Spirit, but that's only because they see Spirit's numbers quarter after quarter and realize Spirit is taking business away from them, and they don't know how to compete against Spirit. One can see this by how the airlines are not growing, in fact shrinking their mainline flying, yet Spirit is looking to double in the very near future and perhaps even triple within a decade from now. This is why the more I look into Spirit the more I want to join that pilot group. But I've been hearing so many rumors about they may not want to hire captains because they think we'll jump ship in the future, or we may have an attitude about how things should be run. I'm not sure if these rumors are qualified or just the misunderstanding of who gets an interview call and who doesn't.
For those of you on the inside at Spirit, in addition to completing and submitting the application on line, what other magical ingredients does one need to simply get that interview? If any of you who can and are willing to help, I would sure appreciate any and all assistance, everyday that goes by and I don't get that phone call for an interview, I realize I may not get a shot of a lifetime to join what could be a most exciting time in an airline such as Spirit. I applied November of 2011, and still haven't received a call yet regarding an interview. Once again thank you all for the information you have been putting on here and for any future assistance.
