Internal recommendations and patience. Just about every pilot getting hired here lately has had someone on the inside pulling (met a guy last week who went to a Spirit job fair - no internals). Even then, there is a huge stack of qualified candidates, and we'll likely pass on some great guys (we already have, please don't give up, we want you here). Be patient, and try to work an internal connection. Apply to other carriers too - Spirit isn't the only fish in the sea, and you can always hang out @ Southwest or FedEx until Spirit calls.

Do you know when or how often Spirit holds those job fairs. I've not seen anything posted about one. I'm in the same boat of not having an internal but have been applying and updating monthly for over a year. Retired military, lots of PIC, IP, Multi-Engine hours, and now sitting over here in Afghanistan flying for a defense contractor. Since I don't know many (actually any) spirit pilots I'm thinking that a job fair may be my best shot. Thanks Ned.
