But if you read the threads on this website, EVERY seasoned airline pilot urges young pilots to have a second/backup career. I just did it backwards - got the first career established before professional aviation.
Maybe someday it will be a pre-req to have a main source of income before becoming a pilot. Do what the other guy said...be smart about it and go rent a plane.
