Jetblue was started as an east coast airline. We we're going west. Jetblue claimed it would not enter large markets. We now service the majority of them. Jetblue claimed it would never add a second fleet type. We now have a regional jet.
Why shouldn't we do that wide body flying ourselves. The market is there for South America. The market is there for Europe. Obviously the market is there for Hawaii. We can't because leadership says so? March of '10 Dave Barger said we would never code share with American because of their culture. Look at us now. Jetblue has never intended to do a lot of things and look at us now.
The CBA mentality of the legacies is clearly working as they are all profitable and expanding globally. They outsource flying to regionals on less or non-profitale routes while make it up on connections. On the other hand Jetblue is allowing other carriers to do profitable flying for us. I fail to see your logic. All we continue to do is accept less so leadership can accept more.
