3 year seat lock for new hires. Unless, your equipment gets sent to the desert, like the 747 Classics. Several classes of 747 Classic FO's that were hired last year will be able to take the 744 or 767, their choice since they are being displaced from equipment.
However, if the 3 year lock is in place, the company can waive that lock at their discretion to allow them to fill vacancies in any other equipment...therefore, bid what you want after you finish training on the first equipment.
