R1 is home reserve and you only get the minimum guaranty...which for first year pilots is 50 hours at $75 per hours for 767 and 744. After your thirteenth month starts, it is 62 hours at $95 for 744, and 62 hours at $79 per hour for 767. R1 accrues no per diem.
R2 is reserve at your base, and the Rig is applicable...using the above pay rates. During R2, Atlas provides airline ticket, hotel, and per diem, to the location of your reserve assignment.

The above explanation is ALMOST correct. Below is taken directly from our CBA:
New Hire Training Pay. A New Hire Crewmember as defined in
Section 2 of this Agreement shall receive $1,600.00 per month
in lieu of any other compensation set forth in this Section 3 from
his date of hire to completion of OE or for four (4) months,
whichever occurs first. Thereafter, the Crewmember shall be
compensated in accordance with this Section 3 in the same
manner as other Crewmembers.
