Even if the trim does runaway to the full stop position, you should still be able to control pitch via power. Not an ideal way but it does work and I had to demo it in the A-300 sim training.
Both the bus and the boeing have trim wheels. The CRJ does not. The only indicator of trim movement and position is on the EICAS or through the control forces (And eventually the trim in motion aural warning).
