I just read the new policy and we aren't traveling ahead of your unaccompanied pass riders. It is easy to misunderstand what they are saying but the terminology they use is very specific. We are ahead of your companion/buddy passriders which isn't anything new on the CAL side. We gained the second enrolled friend at the cost of buddy passes and there is a hefty fee associated with that second person.

We are now the same pass class as UAL employees using a vacation pass on express operated flights because we do not get vacation passes. So it is purely seniority based between express employees and mainline employees as long as you are traveling on a vacation pass.

I understand the angst but it is relatively unchanged from what it was. Recapture scope and it wont be a problem.
