There is no point whatsover to holding a job as a regional fo except for this....

- Building seniority for upgrade

Upgrade allows you to move on (or maybe make what might be a livable wage if you have independent means to fund things like retirement and kid's college).

If you don't want/need the upgrade, or are not going to get one in a reasonable timeline you are wasting your time at a regional.
