Could be wrong on scope, time will tell. On the rest rules, sorry but they are what they are and they are the FAR now. It will change how scheduling at the regionals is done. Pretty sure the ATP/1500 hour thing is now the law. I don't see how wishful thinking will change that (and it is not a bad thing from a pilot standpoint) but again if there is one thing I know it is that I have been wrong before and will be again before I retire.
Hopefully the VP of Express Ops from Airways will show up at contract talks soon cause that is when the new CBA will get done and you can take that to the bank.
TK retired due to a diagnosis of alzheimers. With regards to the ATP, there are loop holes. For example if one graduates from an aviation university, the mins for an ATP become 800 hr. I think thats the number. What does that mean? Well pilot mills like ALL ATPS already started offering a 4 year online degree. Im guessing to fall into the category. Others will take the appropriate steps to be included as well. Good or bad, I dont know, but the law isnt serving its purpose. Typical smoke and mirrors.
