What college education has done is enabled these ceo's to operate without any ethics or morals. Particularly in the airline industry, rarely is performance tied to a college degree because they are failing and walking away with handsome bonuses. I'd much rather have someone who came through the ranks with a degree of moral grounding.
It isn't an either/or scenario. A college education and integrity aren't mutually exclusive, just as coming up through the rank and having scruples isn't mutually inclusive. You're speaking political jibber-jabber designed to stray from the main issue that some (not all) of the senior management SkyWest are bumpkins that could use a little more formal training in their fields. Education isn't a cure all, but like I said earlier: its a great tool to have.
