A senior reserve pilot could expect to fly even less than some junior reserves here report (e.g. pretty little), but that's not good enough? Yes, the bucket sizes need to be smaller, and the number of buckets greater. The company would easily adjust to smaller buckets; it's DALPA that's going to want to keep them as big as they are.
^^^^ spot on.
I got that same impression talking to dalpa as well. I don't know who is in the driver seat with bucket sizes but with my category there is no way outside of irops that you'll see everyone duty in over the month. I think with an 80 raw youve returned the system to seniority only.
I know the goal was to keep from having a pilot fly because his raw was 1 point less than a junior pilot. But now you can have a pilot 1 number junior with a 120 raw while the pilot senior has 0.
LOA29 could've been great but bug buckets degrades qol for far more than it improves and that improvement is very minor. I don't see that as a win. Call me a populist in this regard.
